MODERN HOT ROD CONCEPT
Personal Project | Automotive Design & Visualization (WIP)
The Project
Initially conceived as an entry for the Hum3D Car Render Challenge, this project evolved into a personal study of modern automotive form. The objective was to create a low-slung, aggressive interpretation of the classic Hot Rod. As a self-initiated project, it serves as a creative space to explore complex surfacing and high-end visualization without any commercial or technical constraints.
The Solution
The design focuses on a minimalist silhouette, contrasting clean bodywork with exposed mechanical elements. The workflow started with traditional pencil sketches to define the proportions, followed by a Photoshop composition where the overall scene—including the lighting, colors, and the background—was established. This layout was then processed through Vizcom AI to elevate the conceptual quality and texture of the scene.
This enhanced concept was used as a blueprint for the 3D modeling phase, manually sculpting the geometry to match the established vision. The project is currently in the final stages of exterior detailing and moving into bespoke interior development.
Key Features
- Sketch-to-Final Workflow (WIP): A clear demonstration of moving from a traditional pencil sketch and a custom Photoshop layout to a finalized 3D model.
- Modern Hot Rod Proportions: A bold reimagining of the iconic silhouette, featuring clean surfacing and an aggressive stance.
- AI-Assisted Ideation: Utilizing AI to refine and elevate a hand-crafted visual concept, bridging the gap between a rough sketch and high-fidelity 3D modeling.
- Automotive Visualization: A focus on high-quality studio and environmental rendering to showcase the vehicle’s form and materiality.
