GRADER
Collaborative Project | Maya High-Poly & Low-Poly Modeling
The Project
Created as a portfolio piece for Lav Games, this project demonstrates a complete game-ready vehicle production pipeline. The machine is a hybrid concept design, combining functional elements from multiple industrial graders into an original heavy asset. The goal was to ensure mechanical integrity and silhouette readability according to modern game engine standards.
The Solution
Djordje performed the complete modeling phase in Autodesk Maya, following a dual-stage workflow that included both high-poly geometry for detail projection and optimized low-poly geometry for real-time performance. Every hydraulic system and articulation point was modeled to allow for future rigging and animation. The project followed a collaborative pipeline: while Djordje handled the entire modeling phase, the UV unwrapping, baking, and PBR texturing were executed by Zlatko Samardžić, with final rendering in Marmoset Toolbag.
Key Features
- Dual-Stage Modeling: Full execution of High-Poly and Low-Poly modeling stages within Autodesk Maya.
- Mechanical Integrity: Detailed modeling of hydraulic systems and structural articulation points, ensuring the asset is ready for rigging.
- Hybrid Industrial Design: Custom concept combining functional components from various real-world grader models.
- Topology Optimization: Strategic management of low-poly geometry to maintain silhouette definition and performance.
- Collaborative Pipeline: Seamless integration of modeling assets into the texturing and look-dev workflow (Zlatko Samardžić).
