PERUN CITYCAR CONCEPT
Startup Venture | CEO & Lead Designer
The Project
Founded in 2018, Perun Concept was an automotive startup aimed at the premium compact EV segment. As Co-Founder and CEO, Djordje was responsible for the entire strategic and creative foundation of the brand—from naming the company after the Slavic god of thunder through designing the “Axe of Perun” inspired logo to designing the Perun cars. The challenge was to package a visually appealing, 2+2 urban vehicle within a sub-3m footprint, challenging the boxy constraints typical of the segment.
The Solution
The exterior design is defined by a surfacing approach that connects the head and tail lights through a distinctive “bulge,” inspired by the classic Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. This treatment adds muscularity and breaks the verticality of the compact form. Inside, the focus was on creating a sense of width through a horizontal layout, enhanced by a 23.6-inch wide-screen interface.
Djordje designed every single component of the vehicle, from the overall architecture to the smallest interior details. The project was envisioned to be production-ready, featuring a unique rear-door configuration (BMW i3/Mazda RX-8 style) for access to the rear bench. While the passenger version offers a 2+2 layout, a dedicated commercial variant was also developed, replacing the rear seats to provide a 300L cargo capacity for urban delivery.
